Fusion Dreams is a music band headed by Dr Jyotsna Srikanth. This band's audio signature is unique but resembles that of Hip-hop, Jazz with Indian music topping. They are leading the way in the world of Fusion, Jazz, Electronic and Folk. Imagine driving Indian percussion, western grooves, electronic beats and the mesmerising electric violin.

The theme of Fusion Dreams is to seamlessly intertwine Indian with the western audio collage which offers vibrant foot tapping music appealing to the masses featuring genres and musical flavors from different parts of the globe like the Irish, Italian and Folk music.

The Chronic Blues Circus, Bangalore's foremost Blues Band comprises of: Miriam John - vocals, harp, guitar, Owen - bass, guitar, Sudhakar - drums, Mukut - vocals, Keys and Peter Isaac on vocals, guitar, harps and saxophone.

They are best known for their original music; a natural, clean sound and powerful vocals combined with their unique arrangements. They are probably the only Blues band around with four lead vocalists, who have completely different styles which reflects on the overall sound of the band.

Where there’s a Will - from Thursday 9th to Saturday 13th @ 19.30

Joy is the essence of life and I have always believed that theatre should exude delight. Where there’s a Will is such a play. It is not only thought-provoking and introspective but also provides an evening of pure entertainment.

Where there’s a Will has several interesting aspects. Mahesh described it as the exorcism of the patriarchial code. Women be it daughter-in-law, wife or Mistress are dependent on men and this play shows what happens when they are pushed to the edge. What interest me particularly was its philosophical twist. To be the watcher of one’s self is to make intelligent changes in this life. 

In Where there’s a Will, has control over his family through his money and forgoes an opportunity to improve his interpersonal relationships. As do most of us. Consequently, when he became watcher of his actions, he perceives that his desire for control has led him to be the victim of his own machinations unlike Kiran who uses power play to essentially improve her relationships. 

Where There’s a Will is one of the four earliest plays of Mahesh Dattani. The play is a drawing room comedy of a rich businessman, who tries to control his family even after his death through his ‘will’.

The play is really very interesting and appealing. It generates a lot of laughter and mirth among the spectators. Despite its humorous trait, the play is very introspective and thought-provoking.

The play Where There’s a Will has many trademark qualities of Dattani’s play. Like other plays, the play has Gujarati milieu and successful runs on the stage

Nivedita Dutt | Jishnu Dasgupta | Karthik Mani | Hindustani Classical Fusion - Sunday 7th @ 17.00

Trained in the rigorous discipline of Hindustani Classical vocals, Nivedita Dutt ventures out to world music. She brings the flavour and depth of Indian Classical to the larger audience of the world, even to the uninitiated, by adapting her style and rhythm to contemporary vibes. Versatile as she is, she sings to the diverse settings of Lounge, Celtic, Western Classical, and other genres of International Music. She recently released her first album: Autumn Ballet.

Jishnu Dasgupta is the bass guitarist of Swarathma. Earlier he was the bassist of the XLRI band bodhiTree, best known for cult underground hits like 'GMD'. With engineering and MBA degrees from top schools, Jishnu was all set for a corporate career in marketing. He quit his brand-manager job and became a full-time musician with Swarathma in 2007.

Highly-acclaimed Karthik Mani is is an extremely versatile player, playing different genres of music as well as varied percussion instruments. He has toured across the world and has his own bands “The Karthik Mani Group” and “Taalization”. He is also a core member of Lehera and Moonara. He was the first Indian percussionist to win the “Independent World Music Award” for World Fusion.
